Looking good is so much about feeling good! It has been part of Vigour Skin Therapy right from the beginning to have a culture and products that support loving yourself! Carving out “me time” and providing a ritualistic approach to treating your skin.
Wellbeing is such a personal endeavour and looks so different for each individual … Exactly like skin health!!
So these are just some of my favourite rituals… take what you like and leave the rest but take this as a que to start exploring your own ways to make yourself feel good on the inside and glow.
Any which way that feels good to you! Preferably most days. It boost feel good hormones, oxygenates and detoxifies (which gives our skin a beautiful glow), gives us more energy and clarity , keeps us healthy moving forward and more.
GO FOR A WALK on a track you’ve never been on.
Take some take time throughout the day to take in nice deep breaths
STRETCH ( when you wake up and before bed area great times)
Sign up to a new online class
Take a dip in the ocean
Start a home exercise routine
A CUSTOMISED SKIN CARE ROUTINE that you do morning and night is where it’s at topically to create a happy and healthy skin. Change comes from what we do daily and from what we are feeding the skin cells both topically and internally ( diet, water & sometimes supplements). ENSURING THAT WHAT YOU ARE APPLYING TO YOUR SKIN ISN’T CREATING A HINDRANCE TO YOUR SKINS HEALTH is another imperative part of getting skin vibrant. Nasty chemicals, colours, fragrance, parabens, sulphates, petroleum, mineral oils and more…. are all going to have an adverse effect on the skin. Vigour Skin Therapy is proudly free from nasties and has a high percentage of active ingredients targeting skin concerns and assisting the skins functions to work at their optimal.
A home care routine should always be SPECIFIC TO YOUR SKIN CONDITIONS. Each skin is so different. A reason why VIGOUR Skin Therapy is condition specific.
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS are always to be considered, most importantly a chemical free SPF 50 + daily.
Body brushing smooths, exfoliates, detoxifies and feels so invigourating.
This increases the circulation to the cells, oxygenates the cells, moves excess fluid, better nourishes and renews the cells. Muscular tension is eased meaning relaxation and less wrinkles, better tone is achieved and more. Facial excersise is another important part of keeping the face firm and toned. I can help you in the Vigour Facial Clinic or you can have a peek online to get started. There are over 50 muscles in our face and our expressions aren’t enough to “work” them all sufficiently.. the same as our daily routines often aren’t enough for our bodies to get fit… Isolating different facial muscel groups and spending some time doing some easy repetitive movements most days of the week is where it’s at. Muscel dystrophy is part of the aging picture so should be considered in your routine.
Adorn your lips or nails with a bright hue. A natural choice is always best and Aussie brands even better! I like Inika for makeup and Sienna Byron Bay for nails.
There are so many benefits to drawing a bath… relaxation, skin softening, detoxifying and an easy luxurious experience to create at home especially when essential oils and candles are considered.
A body oil can be applied after every shower and best applied at night to allow the skin to reap the benefits and nourishment whilst you sleep. I also like to apply a layer of body oil before showering especially during the cooler months to stop the skin from drying out.
And dance like no one is watching
With your SPF on of course! But daily time in the fresh air, sunlight, a salt water dip, standing on the grass sans shoes is so healthy and therapeutic.
GET A HOBBY that’s purely for youCHAT TO A FRIEND just because and do it more regularly instead of texting and social media interaction.
Eat what you feel like
Put on the red lippy
Skip the spin class and sit on the grass in the sunshine
Every now and then it is so healthy to adopt the 80/20 rule. Balance is everything.
GUT HEALTH is not only a huge part of our general health but also our skin health, mental health and more. Look into ways to boost your gut health. Some easy initail tips is to stay away from processed foods, excess alcohol, sugars and foods that turn acidic through the digestive process. Add fermented foods into your diet, drink lots of water, add mucilage foods into your diet, eat a well balanced colourful diet, consider a pre & pro biotic & sip on some home broth.
Gut issues can lead to issues in the immune system and in the skins immunity also. Breakout, sensitivities and rashes can all stem from suffering gut health. Aging is also speed u through related inflammation.
Each colour represents different micro nutrients, vitamins & minerals.
We are what we eat and our cells grow from what goes into our bodies. Sugars, processed foods, processed carbohydrates are some of the worst to cause inflammation and advanced glycation and quickened aging, wrinkles and more.
Our systems including that of our skins are more prone to breakdown, illness, rashes and aging when our systems become too acidic…
There are lots of charts you can find on foods that are more alkaline vs acidic. As a rule of thumb include lots of greens! Fresh fruit and veg into your diet. As we all get busy there are some great green alkalising powders that work well in smoothies to up the anti.
Chlorophyll and spirulina are great additions as well as adding fresh lemon juice to your water.
A major part of aging is through oxidative stress. Antioxidants topically and internally are paramount to slow down this processs and hep to preserve our healthy skin cells including collagen fibres.
A great internal antioxidant duo is
Liposomal C and glutathione for protection, prevention, collagen boosting and brightening.
Some other intenals to consider
Evening Primrose great for dry and inflammed skins
Zinc acts as a natural skin antibiotic assisting in keeping it clear and strong.
Silica assists in keeping connective tissue , hair and nails strong and healthy as well as being a vital part of collagen synthesis.
* ALWAYS SPEAK TO A HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONAL BEFORE STARTING NEW EXCERSISE ROUTINES, DIETS OR SUPPLEMENTS *
What’s right for one person may be harmful to another so ensure that you always check with your doctor first.
Good fats!! Olive oil, avocado, salmon, sardines, olives, nuts and more. Include some good days into your diet daily for your mental, physical and skin health.

2.5 to 3litres is a good daily quota. The skin suffers greatly with a lack of hydration. It wrinkles at a more rapid rate, lacks lustre and can have other associated issues… even breaking out as the lymphatic function is hindered as well as looking dull.
Another reason to drink up is our brains become sharper, greater energy and even improved mood!
Our cells are like sultanas opposed to big juicy grapes when they are dehydrated!!
Vigour includes amazimg hydrators and humectants to help out topically.
Some of our faves atm is Niacinamide found in the Vitamin A Nightime Elixir & the
